Introduction to DECA

DECA is a one day individual case study competition where students get an opportunity to tackle business case studies and are given feedback on their performance by experienced professionals from the industry. Over 100 students attend DECA and every year, winners of the competition have gone on to work at top companies such as IBM and Bank of American Merrill Lynch. Those who managed to impress the judges last year were also fast tracked to internships and job positions.

DECA is organized into two unique student divisions – the High School Division and the Collegiate Division. The former includes 185,000 members in 5,000 schools. The latter boasts over 15,000 members in 200 colleges and universities, including UCL DECA which is the only Collegiate DECA event in Europe. DECA Inc. is a not-for-profit student organization with members in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Canada, China, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

We believe that UCL DECA Competition is a good learning platform for all participants to:

- Demonstrate their ability and equip them with skills that are essential in embarking on a successful career

- Develop decision-making and critical thinking skills

- Explore a variety of different industries

- Improve self-confidence and enhance presentation skills.
